Elizabeth works in both English-language and Spanish-language films. Her performances have been wonderfully received at screenings at the Directors Guild of America, Women in Film, and the AFI. Much of her film work has been seen in festivals around the globe, including Sweden and India. She has also carved out a niche in network television playing fiercely compassionate doctors, fearful grad students, and dry White House aides, among others.Elizabeth attended both Wesleyan University and Wellesley College, where she won the Isabelle Eastman Fisk Performance Prize. In Los Angeles, she was honored twice by Review Plays as one of the top five theatre actresses of the year, and has also won StageSceneLA Awards for her leading actress and ensemble work, as well as LA Weekly and Garland Awards for her ensemble work in comedy and drama. She has studied with Jonathan Banks at UCLA Extension, Marilyn Fox & Gar Campbell at Pacific Resident Theatre, and Cinda Jackson at The Lost Studio. She also studied improv with ComedySportz and Gary Austin, founder of The Groundlings.Elizabeth was raised in Central America, North Africa, the Middle East, and Connecticut as a Guatemalan-American business brat of Chinese-Spanish-Irish-French-German-English descent. Her one-woman show about her upbringing, Alien Citizen: an earth odyssey, is on its international tour through theatres, festivals, the college circuit, Off Off Broadway, conferences, international schools, and US Embassies.Elizabeth is a published essayist and co-hosts the podcast/blog Hapa Happy Hour, which explores and celebrates the mixed heritage experience.
