Shark - Season 1 (2006)
TrailerSebastian Stark is a Los Angeles hot-shot lawyer, who leaves his lucrative career as a defender of rich criminals to try public prosecution under the District Attorney. He forms a trial team of his own, consisting of young lawyers, like Casey Woodland, the son of a legislator, who get an opportunity to learn straight from the master, if they can stand his hellish pace, and walk the tightrope between respecting the law while using it and doing whatever it takes to win. A private investigator helps out, digging up factual information. In nearly every episode, a criminal is found out and put behind bars, after testing out tactics in Stark's private mock court. Sebastian often also has to deal with his daughter Julie, who surprisingly chose to live with him after his divorce, rather than with her mother in New York City.Actors: James Woods, Danielle Panabaker, Sophina Brown, Sarah Carter, Jeri Ryan, Henry Simmons, Sam Page, Kevin Alejandro, Carlos Gómez, Alexis Cruz, Michael Cotter, ...»Director: Adam Davidson, Paul Holahan, Steven RobmanCountry: United StatesDuration: 60 minQuality: SDRelease: 2006IMDb: 7.10 CommentsSort By- Newest

Critic Reviews of "Shark - Season 1 (2006)"
New York Daily NewsNovember 08, 2018Shark is pure theater. And like its title character, expect this show to devour everyone in its path.
SlateNovember 08, 2018The show works only because Woods is a honey-baked ham playing a character who lives to be a showman.
Boston GlobeNovember 08, 2018Woods is riveting, because he is such a machine gun of an actor, and he makes the ordinary script crackle.
New York TimesNovember 08, 2018Mr. Woods has found a television role that suits his gift and runs away with it.
USA TodayNovember 08, 2018Woods knows how to amp up his performance without becoming shrill or ridiculously out-of-scale. You won't exactly believe in Sebastian Stark, sharp-tongued legal warrior extraordinaire, but odds are you will enjoy him.
Pittsburgh Post-GazetteNovember 08, 2018Stark is a made-for-TV character, and Woods clearly loves sharpening his teeth for the biting dialogue.
People MagazineNovember 08, 2018Woods is every bit as entertaining as he strives to be. Stark is both a negative energy force and the life of the party. He all but pulls out balloons, sculpts them into dachshunds -- and pops them.
Den of GeekNovember 08, 2018Shark isn't terrible television though, but it's certainly lazy. Take one man out of the equation, and it just doesn't work.
Common Sense MediaNovember 08, 2018Without Woods, Shark would be just another formulaic legal drama. But his acting chops are sharp and his presence strong.
7M PicturesNovember 08, 2018When Shark is boiled down to its basic parts, it's just another courtroom drama. However, it rises out of obscurity with a strong cast, led by veteran actor James Woods. In fact, it's Woods' passion in the project that carries the show.
PajibaJune 15, 2018Too bad, really - I'd love to see Woods in a good show. But this just ain't it.
