In the present, Lee Sun hurries to the selection room, where all of the participants lay unconscious or in pain from drinking the poisoned tea. He checks on the queen dowager before hurrying to Ga-eun’s side, where Sun already sits in grim-faced worry. Lee Sun yells at Sun for not doing his proper job as a guard before ordering the royal physician to tend to Ga-eun.
