After Admiral Rizzo's betrayal and Hayrettin's death, Mehmed devises a plan for revenge. In Mehmed's view, Rizzo has no choice but to seek refuge in the Pontic Empire. The Pontic Empire will either hand Rizzo over or face the wrath of the Ottomans. Rizzo, having caused the death of Çandarli's nephew, is also targeted by Çandarli. Will Mehmed be able to make Rizzo pay for his betrayal? Will Çandarli take revenge on Rizzo, having been forced to kill his own nephew with his own hands? In Byzantium, new balances are being established ahead of the great siege. Notaras, who was invited to the city by Emperor Constantine, has immediately begun making sinister moves to corner the Ottomans. Two of these moves involve potential alliances with the Kingdom of Serbia and the Karamanid Beylik. Will Notaras succeed in forming this alliance of evil? Will Serbia betray the Ottomans?
