McLeods Daughters - Season 5, Episode 19: Make Believe
TrailerJodi is surprised when Kate reacts badly to news that her Nonna - Alessa Manfredi - the hero-worshipped matriarch of the family, is on her way to Drovers. Kate is forced to confess she has been sending letters implying she is the boss of Drovers, the head of the CFS and, worst of all, that she is practically engaged to the to the local vet, Dave. Alessa meanwhile, has a secret of her own and on arrival Kate is surprised to see her Nonna with a new look and traveling alone. What has come over her? Mortified, Kate has to confess the lie to Dave, asking him to go along with the deception as she cannot bear the thought of Nonna discovering the truth. Dave is reluctant, but eventually steps up to play the part of her boyfriend. However things come to a head at Jodi's 1920's murder mystery party when the truth about her sham relationship is revealed. Kate had been feeling guilty and upset by all the deception, but the eventual unraveling of it all seems to make matters worse and may cost her friendship with Dave. Alessa is devastated to learn of the pressure she has been putting on her granddaughter, but it seems she has some confessions of her own to make - she's thinking of leaving her husband, having come to the realisation (post illness) that she has had no life of her own, but her visit to Drovers makes her realise running away can't turn back the clock. She's shared a beautiful life with Carlo and now what she really wants is to share her future with him. Meanwhile, Alex is perplexed by Rob's turn-the-other-cheek attitude after an incident at the Truckstop. Alex doesn't buy it. What's the point of all Rob's martial arts training if he doesn't do anything with it? Alex sets out to prove that deep down Rob is like every other bloke - competitive and reactive. Alex gets more than he bargained for when Rob flattens him when Alex approaches him in the dark after leaving Jodi's dinner. Rob is mortified by his actions and although Alex laughs it off - he was right, Rob is a typical bloke after all - he's curious about what's really going on with Rob. Jodi continues to be unimpressed with Rob - although she is rather intrigued by Moira's psychic impressions of him. However, hitting Alex is the final nail in the coffin of her party and Jodi is left, once more, with the distinct impression that Rob is nothing but an arrogant jerk. Although one cannot help but wonder if she protesteth too much. Moira - aka Mystic Miranda - takes it out on Terry when he hands her car over to her husband and she has no transport to a gig in Fisher. Jodi volunteers to drive her. But when their car breaks down it's the final blow in Moira's already bad day. (What Moira is not revealing is her car and financial problems are the result of her acrimonious ex). Jodi convinces her to join the party at Drovers, where Moira gets a chance to apologise to Terry for her earlier rudeness.Genre: DramaActors: Aaron Jeffery, Rachael Carpani, Simmone Mackinnon, Bridie Carter, Myles Pollard, Michala Banas, Sonia Todd, Brett Tucker, John Jarratt, Doris Younane, Marshall Napier, ...»Director: Richard Jasek, Arnie Custo, Grant Brown, Steve Mann, Ian Watson, Steve Jodrell, Declan Eames, Andrew Prowse, Nicholas BufaloCountry: AustraliaDuration: 45 minQuality: SDRelease: 2005IMDb: 7.40 CommentsSort By- Newest
