Critic Reviews of "Dexter - Season 2"
Alan Sepinwall Newark Star-LedgerSeptember 30, 2007If there's a series on television right now that deserves to be mentioned as a successor to the ambition and dark brilliance of "The Sopranos," it's "Dexter."
Matthew Gilbert Boston GlobeSeptember 30, 2007"Dexter" secures a position near the top of another year's best list.
Rob Owen Pittsburgh Post-GazetteSeptember 30, 2007What makes Dexter such a likable character is that he only kills people who in his mind deserve to die -- murderers.
Melanie McFarland Seattle Post-IntelligencerSeptember 30, 2007Rarely has an image of evil looked so delectably good.
Gillian Flynn Entertainment WeeklyNovember 07, 2007Despite Dexter's failed attempts at tension, the show's oddball cast of characters still has draw.
Scott Tobias AV ClubSeptember 30, 2007"It's Alive" turns the screws nicely on Dexter by hitting him [with] an identity crisis and the possibility of getting found out, and it's easy to see how that tension might sustain another brilliantly plotted season of television.
Brian Lowry VarietySeptember 30, 2007Spiced with dark humor and oozing atmosphere, "Dexter" is the buzzworthy franchise for which the pay cabler has long pined.
Doug Elfman Chicago Sun-TimesSeptember 30, 2007Dexter, one of the best shows on TV this decade. High praise, indeed. Deserved.
Mary McNamara Los Angeles TimesSeptember 30, 2007Hall does the seemingly impossible: He makes real a serial killer who is as ruthless as he is sympathetic.
Tim Goodman San Francisco ChronicleSeptember 30, 2007This series has always handled the duality of his [Dexter] character with masterful strokes. And it has done viewers a favor by quickly setting up the seasonlong scenario.
