Critic Reviews of "Air"
Los Angeles TimesAugust 13, 2015Writer-director Christian Cantamessa and co-writer Chris Pasetto aim for a Danny Boyle-Alex Garland-style psychological thriller like 2007's "Sunshine," but they don't adequately account for all of the mood swings.
New York TimesAugust 13, 2015Once an idea is introduced, it's tossed aside, unexplored; though there's plenty of talk, this isn't exactly a sci-fi "My Dinner With Andre." Tense music substitutes for genuine tension.
Village VoiceAugust 11, 2015All the end-times mysteries develop into a meditation on the limits of humanity, which is the most charitable way of saying that there's lots of scenes of dudes chasing each other with guns.
Paste MagazineAugust 26, 2015Feather light and full of unrealized promise, Air disappoints in not where it goes, but where it doesn't go.
Under the RadarAugust 21, 2015The chemistry between the two actors never fully clicks, which is ultimately the essential ingredient for this film's success.
IGN MoviesAugust 14, 2015Hounsou and Reedus are captivating enough that people will find things to enjoy in it.
Film Journal InternationalAugust 14, 2015[Christian Cantamessa has] the eye of a promising director-now he just needs a better script.
CraveOnlineAugust 12, 2015Air succeeds where many sci-fi movies fail, by making an unbelievable story completely believable.
Blu-ray.comAugust 12, 2015"Air" isn't a wipeout, but it feels determined to be disappointing.
