Dr. Yvette Lu studied acting at the University of British Columbia, Circle in the Square (New York City), Carousel Theatre, and Schoolcreative. Favourite roles include Prospero (The Tempest), Hermia (A Midsummer Night's Dream) with Carousel Summer Theatre, and Lucy in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, her parents immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong -- a heritage and tradition for which Yvette holds a deep respect. Yvette is a classically trained pianist, and loves to sing, write, dance, and compose music. In addition to playing the lead role in "Food for the Gods," she also co-composed and conducted the original musical score, performed as one of the vocalists on the soundtrack, and assisted in overseeing the film's overall sound design. Prior to pursuing acting, Yvette completed her medical training at the University of British Columbia and now specializes in family medicine. She has written a play about chronic illness, based upon her experiences as a physician. Her latest roles are in the short film "Dread Locked," and more recently, as the lead in the upcoming Cantonese/Japanese-language period film "Servants of War," set in World War II China. As in "Food for the Gods," Yvette is also serves as the film's composer. Show less «
