Wendy Braun's successful career has spanned over a decade of playing diverse roles in film, television and theatre. She's been directed by Hollywood's best including Jason Reitman, Will Smith, James L. Brooks and Ivan Reitman.Wendy grew up in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, Illinois. Her mother was the famed Miss Beverly, host of the children's classic television show, Romper Room (1953), and her father was a Navy pilot. Wendy began acting at age 12, as "the Scarecrow" in "The Wiz", and continued performing in musicals and plays at Glenbrook South High School, as well as at Indiana University, where she graduated early to pursue acting.Upon moving to Los Angeles, Wendy starred in several award-winning film festival hits. And, after shooting just one Mervyn's commercial, her comedic timing and improvisation skills prompted ad executives to create a 26-spot Mervyn's campaign for her. A standout in these spots, Wendy quickly won more roles in film and television, taking her all over the world. Braun has returned to the Chicago stage to star in "The Vagina Monologues", as well as perform stand-up comedy at select national venues, including "Zanie's" in Chicago, and Los Angeles' prestigious "The Improv" and "The Comedy Store".The actress became a fan favorite as the officious hospital administrator, "Iris Sneed", on General Hospital (1963). Her character was quickly added as a contract player on the GH spin-off, General Hospital: Night Shift (2007). Wendy's long list of television appearances includes recent guest star roles on The Mentalist (2008) (CBS), Criminal Minds (2005) (CBS), Bones (2005) (FOX), NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service (2003) (CBS), Harry's Law (2011) (NBC) and as Michael Hitchcock's wife on Men of a Certain Age (2009) (TNT).Wendy is also a fitness enthusiast and triathlete. She's completed the Malibu Triathlon, where she won medals two years in a row in the Female Celebrity Division, and helped to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. Wendy championed this cause back at Indiana University, where she was part of the founding committee of the I.U. Dance Marathon, an event that has since raised millions for pediatric aids. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, actor Josh Coxx, and their two young sons. Show less «
