Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Vijay has made Toronto his home since 1995. He took a few acting courses in college and discovered a genuine love of acting on the stage and for the camera. This led to an acting job as a Star Trek alien -- Algar of the Ferengi -- which, in turn, led to his time at the renowned George Brown Theatre School. Fantastic acting opportunities soon followed: the role of the Puck, Robin Goodfellow in the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night's Dream, which toured across Ontario, Quebec, New York, Ohio and Texas; a radio play adaptation of Shyam Selvadurai's acclaimed novel Funny Boy, in which he played the lead, and was directed by legendary filmmaker Deepa Mehta; and a series regular on YTV's How to be Indie, in which he played the goofy and lovable dad for two seasons.Vijay makes his home with his beautiful wife Barb and their beyond-adorable puppy Sparky. He spends his time writing sketches and screenplays on his own and with his writing partners, and constantly seeks to develop his craft. Otherwise, Vijay can be found obsessing about his favorite music bands, fiendishly watching the great (and the not-so-great) movies of our time, and enthusing about new and cool technology.
