Tony Kim is an actor, known for Sleepless (2017), The Second Coming of Christ (2017) and Answered Prayers (2015). Tony has lived in eight states, and resides in Los Angeles, CA.Born in Key West, FL to a father who was a submariner in the US Navy, and an immigrant mother from S. Korea who was a stay at home parent. Being taught that education was the most important thing in life, Tony excelled in academics at public school, continuing this trend well into adulthood despite challenges along the way. After living in Hawaii for 4 years, his family relocated to San Diego when he was 5 years old, where he spent his life until he was 19.At the age of 10, he was admitted into Child Protective Services as a ward of the state following domestic abuses and neglect. Bouncing around several homes, group homes, and holding facilities for three years until he was placed into a home in East San Diego County he lived at until graduating from West Hills High School at 17. During these seven years, life was turbulent, and he had many problems related to behavior in and out of school including drug use and theft. Upon graduation he attended San Diego State University under the Computer Science program, however he dropped out during the 2nd semester. Knowing that he had to attain a higher education, at the age of 19, he enlisted in the US Navy under a program that included an education rated among the top in the nation in academics and intensity of both private and public universities. But this seemed to be a only a temporary reprieve from troubles, as he received an OTH discharge from the Navy shortly after his return from his involvement in Operation Enduring Freedom.Finding a career as an Industrial Technical Engineer and Production Management, he continued to float from various companies due to several layoffs until the 2008 Financial Crisis. Finding little solace, and with almost no art experience of any kind, he took the stage as a Stand up comedian 2011 in Kansas City. He's never looked back...well occasionally a glance over the shoulder. Shortly afterwards, he moved back to San Diego to pursue his new calling. He booked his first paid performances: a play, and a Stand-up show before setting foot in San Diego. The play was ironically for the Marine Corps Recruitment Depot staff. Quickly he became well known in the circuit, having radio appearances, becoming a paid regular at Madhouse Comedy Club, running the New York Comedy Club in San Diego as the Club Manager and paid regular, with national touring veteran comedians who took him under their wings. Two years later he moved to LA, started performing in stand up shows, improv groups, taking classes in improv and acting at various studios, trading his knowledge in engineering for classes, and working harder and happier than he's ever had. Now having completed dozens of Film, TV, Theatre, and Commercial projects, his goal is to go as far as he can.He was cast in the feature film Sleepless (2017) as the villain of the story, Kai-Shen, which premiered at Warner Brothers, and is set for distribution and release in June 2017. He is cast in the stage adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time (Mar/Apr 2017) as the Man with the Red Eyes/Father, at the Sierra Madre Playhouse performing privately for schools, and publicly for general audiences.Tony signed a multi-year, multi-film contract with Aeon Century Productions for the original trilogy work entitled Tykarindom (2018), as Eldain the Elf King.
