Steven Jae Johnson

Steven Jae Johnson got his taste for music--and drama--early. Starting several rock and roll bands in the early '60s, before it was "the thing" to do, he eventually made a connection that would set the tone for his professional life. At age 15, he met another aspiring singer, Edward James Olmos. Together they played all the major clubs on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They packed in the crowds with their combination of good music and campy, slap-stick routines. Olmos credits Johnson for suggesting he try acting, and Olmos' direction was set. While Johnson also found he had a flair for acting, his first love will always remain music. Over the years, he and Olmos have remained fast friends and business partners, but Johnson has also made his own name in the business. His work in the feature film, "A Million to Juan" (with composing partner Jeffery Johnson--no relation) was given rave reviews in Billboard Magazine and the Hollywood Reporter. Blockbuster reports heavy sales of the soundtrack in its release week. Show less «
