Conceived in Madrid Spain, Steven C. Gridley was born at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California to Lt. Col Haines Gridley III and Joan Patricia (Wilde) Gridley. He grew up in So Cal most of his life with the exception of one year in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he felt the need to learn the Spanish language as tribute to his "conceptual" roots (minoring in Spanish and studying Latin American history). While attending Pepperdine University in Malibu, Gridley fell in love with the entertainment industry when he enrolled in an acting class for TV and Film. After graduating University, with the help of studying under Howard Fine and the late Uta Hagen and Heidi Hellen Davis, Gridley learned to hone his raw talent as an actor and has had some success over the years, landing national commercials, starring and co-starring in indie films, TV shows, and being cast as the lead in a pilot for NBC, a Ken Corday Production, directed by Albert Alarr (Home Improvement, Days of Our Lives). One of his favorite roles was in Ray Romano's TNT hit show "Men of A Certain Age", co-starring opposite Scott Bakula as a surf instructor. As an avid surfer since his teenage years (as well as having a background as an actual surf instructor), it couldn't have been any more perfect of a character to portray... and he even got to ride his beach cruiser to the set from his apartment during that week of filming! With thespian blood running through his veins, Gridley's great uncle Thomas Wilde was a Hollywood actor in the 1950's co-starring in several commercials and television series, including "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". Not to mention, he was the original Marlboro Man.Even as a small child Gridley thrived on entertaining, known for putting on magic shows at garage sales and sporting his Incredible Hulk (Underoos) underwear, flexing his "sparrow's muscles" for 8mm family movies.Mr. Gridley is a licensed California RealtorĀ®, as well as a partner in a tech recruiting agency in "Silicone Beach". And since 1998 he's been an educator for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. He currently teaches part time at Santa Monica High School in between gigs. Although initially approaching the entertainment industry solely as an actor, he's also a screenwriter and a movie producer.Mr. Gridley currently resides in Santa Monica, CA Show less «
