Simon Longmore

Simon Longmore was born in Great Britain but raised mostly in Vancouver, BC, Canada. In the late 1970s his family relocated to Alberta, then back to B.C. after a couple of years. During his teens Simon found refuge in acting. Having a rebellious and devil-may-care nature he followed the family tradition of serving in the military, and in the late 1980s was posted to te 6th Field Engineer Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force, alongside his brother, two cousins and numerous childhood friends. In 1987 he was discharged and returned back to civilian life.He had studied acting after high school and then wandered from job to job. Eventually he became a journeyman millwright at an open pit mine. Feeling unfulfilled at this career choice, he went back to acting ad became an acting teacher. At the age of 29 he was a walk-on for the City of Bellingham semi-pro football team, The Northwest Avalanche. He played for five years before retiring in 2004. He is also an amateur boxer and avid mixed martial arts fan and student.Simon is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts.
