Stunt Coordinator, Stuntman, 2nd Unit Director, Director & Actor, Scott Leva has over 28 years experience and numerous Film and Television credits to his name. Scott began his career as a champion gymnast, who moved to New York in 1977 to try his hand at acting. His drive and athletic talents eventually brought him to the attention of many of the top east coast stuntman, who urged him to give stunt work a try. He took them up on their advice. In 1983, Scott met stunt legend, Dar Robinson (A premier all-around Stuntman, Stunt Coordinator and the industry's foremost high fall specialist). Scott followed Dar's advice and made the move to California to expand his skills and career. There he often found himself at Robinson's North Hollywood home, working out on the trampoline and obtaining whatever knowledge and advice he could from the veteran stuntman.Scott's resume and experience grew and he eventually found himself working steadily in the Hollywood stunt industry (Also becoming a premier high fall specialist). After the death of his friend Paul Dallas due to a high fall mishap, It was Dar Robinson's influence and his own numerous high fall experiences that ultimately led Scott to think about redesigning the air bag.In 1997, Scott Leva rebuilt the air bag from the ground up. Using his practical experience and innovative ideas, he designed an air bag that was softer, more durable and most importantly, much safer! Scott's intensive research found that many industry standard airbags had faults. Primarily, if the stunt performer landed off center of the bag, the airbag could either bounce or slide the person off the bag entirely! Scott designed a new air bag that would keep the person safely in the bag, no matter what part of the surface they hit. A much needed innovation that has made the high fall safer!Scott has brought his innovative ideas and improvements to many other areas of stunt work as well. From fights to falls, to specialized rigging, Scott has become a well-known Stunt Coordinator & 2nd Unit Director, who has created new and exciting action for some of today's most popular films and TV shows. He was Nomintaed for the World Stunt Award (Taurus Award) in 2003 in two categories, Best High Work and Best Overall Stunt by a Stunt Man for his high fall on from 125 feet onto the top of a car for Ballistic: Ecks VS. Sever. In 2006 Scott Received The Academy Award,Technical Acheivement Award for the design and development of the Precision Stunt Airbag for motion picture stunt falls. His most cherished accomplishments are his Wife Betsy and their beautiful daughter Georgia.
