Award winning writer, producer and director, Sarah Lambert is the creator, writer and a producer of the smash hit Australian television series Love Child, a drama for Channel 9 and Playmaker Media. It premiered to Australian audiences in February 2014 to critical and ratings success. Love Child was the number one drama in Australia in 2014 and the second season is due to air on Australian television in the second quarter of 2015. The first series was nominated for seven Logie Awards -Australia' s television awards. One of those nominations was for Most Popular Drama Series.Sarah is currently working between Australian and the United States. With producers Anna Vincent & Tim White, she is developing the best selling and critically acclaimed novel Mice, by Gordon Reece, into a feature film. She is also working with producer Ian Collie at Essential Media to develop Trust - a psychological thriller that delves into the world of a cult - for a premium US cable network.Sarah began her career as an actress on well known Australian television series including Heartbreak High, A Country Practice, Police Rescue and also appeared on stage in theatre productions for The Sydney Theatre Company such as Tom Stoppard's Arcadia.After winning her first award as a writer/director back in 1991 for her short drama, Come Fly with Me, she moved to New York for over ten years where she built an impressive career, as a partner in the television and film production house Babelfish Productions, which has taken her all over the world.Her credits include Clone Story for M6 (France), God In Government (PBS/awarded the Cine Gold Eagle), New Type Of Jazz, Directors On Directing and The Play's The Thing for PBS for which she was recognised with an Emmy nomination.Working as a producer, her credits also include Last Chance For Peace and 14 Million Dreams for the Sundance Channel.Sarah was co-creator, writer and director of a 65 part children's series, Aliens Among Us for Channel 5 (UK).In 2006 she returned to Australia where she wrote and directed the award winning short drama Photograph which screened in festivals around the world. Sarah's writing on the television series The Alice gained her a nomination for the Queensland Premier's Literary Award (Episode 14). Her other television writing credits include A Place to Call Home, All Saints, Some Say Love and the multi-award winning series, Love My Way. Recently Sarah has written on two seasons of the Emmy nominated ABC television series, Dance Academy. Her work on the series was recognized in 2010 with an AWGIE (the Australian Writers' Guild awards) nomination for Best Children's Screenplay. In 2012 she was one of three writers chosen to be part of SCRIBE, a show-runner initiative supported by Screen Australia and Playmaker Media.Sarah continues to write for Australian television series A Place to Call Home and The Dr Blake Mysteries and is a consultant producer on Love Child 3.
