After finally admitting that she craved time in front of the lens, instead of behind it, Nicole Stanton left her photography career and started her acting life in San Francisco, studying at American Conservatory Theatre and with Jean Shelton. She shot several short and independent films there, including "The Visit," for which she was awarded the "Best Actress" award by the COM Film Festival in Marin County. She has had great success commercially, acting in spots for several national campaigns, including Toyota, Emerald Nuts, Discover Card and Toshiba and aspires one day to be Flo's sidekick in all those Progressive Insurance spots. She then was cast in the role of a lifetime - a Series Regular in an independent television drama, "Bourbon Street," shot in New Orleans, playing the wife of the show's villain - her demure character would have taken a turn and ended up murdering her husband - if only it would have gotten picked up!Nicole was also an original member of the Studio C Company, founded by John Coppola, producing 4 films in their first year, winning multiple awards at the NY Independent Film & Video Festival. She has produced, co-written and starred in her own web series, "Spinster!" named after her - but not really, but yeah kind of....Nicole was also seen on stage with the well-known Sacred Fools Theater Company as part of their popular "Fast and Loose," series, which she excitedly thought was a show based on slutty women, but it's actually where actors receive their roles in the morning and perform them onstage that same night, flying by the seat of their pants! This "pant-less" feeling brought her to the wonderful world of improv, first at the Groundlings and then at the Upright Citizen's Brigade (UCB), where she completed the full program and enjoyed performing and exploring the wonder of stepping out on stage and not having any idea what's going to come out of her mouth! She's also performed Stand-up Comedy, to poke fun at mostly herself and others, at the World Famous Comedy Store and the Hollywood Improv. She is excited about her newest endeavors - the development of the future Emmy award winning television show, which right now has to remain super secret - more to come on that later! And most recently, a leading role, shooting at the world famous Graceland, in the original Hallmark television movie, "Wedding at Graceland," set to air on the Hallmark Channel in that most beloved of wedding months, June. When not acting, Nicole enjoys using American Sign Language to "sing" along with the radio, chasing after food trucks and whispering to dogs and any other animals that will listen. Show less «
