Nakoa is a native of Hawai'i and is a mix of Hawaiian, Portuguese, Japanese, and British ancestry. He was a professional big wave surfer and martial arts practitioner for most of his young adult years. After filming a project in Hawai'i, he would make the move to LA to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
