As actors all we do is pretend. People can make acting into a science all they want, but it's just make believe.

First time I ride an elephant, I'm galloping down this river bank with, like, twenty other ones galloping behind me, and I'm going, I'm holding onto whatever bugs, hair, or whatever I can hold onto, going, 'Don't fall off, what ever you do. Because these guys are not going to stop, just because I fall off. They don't know I'm Tarzan.' Show less «

When one of the characters I play walks on screen, the audience doesn't immediately say, "This is the good guy." I enjoy characters like that. They're never all good or all bad. I don't like playing heroes who are good through and through, because nobody is. It's more fun to play people who have had bad in their life. I can relate to that. Akira Kurosawa always said he liked his villains more than his heroes. Show less «
