A child model for a major Canadian department store in the late 1970s, Mike caught the performance bug early on. After several stage performances and a stint on campus radio in Hamilton, he moved to Victoria, British Columbia and further pursued his creative aspirations. In 2004, he co-founded Three Schooner Productions. Their company produced the Western Canadian premiere of Trey Parker's "Cannibal: The Musical", which was voted Favorite Production by the public at the 2005 M Awards, presented by local publication Monday Magazine. They also founded The 30 Cent Players, a sketch comedy troupe who have gone on to perform at DC ComedyFest (2007), The San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival(2007), SketchFest Vancouver(2006), Calgary's FunnyFest(2006) and made their national debut over the radio airwaves with CBC's "So, You Think You're Funny?"
