Marilyn Giardino, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to John and Angela Giardino, grew up in Warwick, New York. In 1965, she attended St. John's University, The New School for Social Research, New York City, NY & AIU, Chicago, Illinois. AA: Business Administration, BFA: Visual Communications, Digital Design, MA: Curriculum Design. Married at Sea Ranch, CA in 1983 to Charles Zych, a musician and electronics engineer. They have two daughters, Margo Valentine (b. 1983) and Christina Nova (b.1986). Both daughters are graduates of California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, California with careers in film/video and dance. In addition to her film work, Marilyn created a comedic character, "Marilyn Macaroni", to perform live for community events. "Marilyn Macaroni" is a unique clown character who tap dances, sings, plays guitar, does magic tricks and makes balloon sculptures to the delight of parents, teachers and children. Her original costume designs suit the retro, pop art style of the character. Both daughters have joined her in shows as "Teena Ballerina" and "Margo the Amazing Ventriloquist". Marilyn is author of a book, "A Clown is Coming to my Birthday" and produced a video, "Marilyn Macaroni: Lake Shoes!" for children.Ms Giardino continues to work in the motion picture business and is an active union member of I.A.T.S.E. Script Supervisors, Local 871.An Inspiration: During WWII John Giardino was assigned to an air photographic unit in the South Pacific. As Marilyn was growing up, and watching "Lassie" on TV her dad would frequently exclaim "There's my buddy's name in the credits...from Guadalcanal!" Marilyn thought it would be wonderful to see your name on TV. Years later after becoming a script supervisor she reunited her dad with Kenny Peach Sr., the Cinematographer on the "Lassie", TV series.
