Margot Robbie is an Australian actress born in Dalby, Queensland, and raised on the Gold Coast, spending much of her time at the farm belonging to her grandparents. Her mother, Sarie Kessler, is a physiotherapist. Robbie attended and graduated from Somerset College. In her late teens, she moved to Melbourne to pursue an acting career. Her first break came when she appeared in two films directed by Aash Aaron - Vigilante (2008) and I.C.U. (2009). In 2008, she began appearing as "Donna Freedman" in the soap opera, Neighbours (1985). The role and performance was popular and Robbie was nominated for several Logie Awards. She left the show in 2010 and set off to pursue Hollywood opportunities, quickly landing the role of "Laura Cameron" in the ABC drama, Pan Am (2011).In 2013, Margot made her big screen debut in Richard Curtis' romantic comedy-drama film, About Time (2013), and co-starred in Martin Scorsese's biopic, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). In 2015, Robbie co-starred in the romantic comedy-drama film, Focus (2015); appeared in the romantic World War II drama film, Suite Française (2014), and starred in the film, Z for Zachariah (2015). In May 2012, Robbie joined the cast of Richard Curtis romantic comedy, About Time (2013), alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy. "About Time" was released in the United Kingdom on 4 September 2013 and in the United States on 1 November 2013. The film received positive reviews and grossed $87 million on its $12 million budget. In June 2012, it was announced that Robbie was in talks to appear in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey. In 2015, Robbie starred opposite Will Smith in the romantic comedy-drama film, Focus (2015). In the film, she plays an inexperienced grifter learning the craft from Smith's character. The film was released on February 27, 2015 to generally mixed reviews, however Robbie's performance was praised.In 2016, she headlined two summer blockbusters, first as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and then as the maniacal Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad (2016). But I also think it's disgusting when someone would have got naked in real life, in the film they conveniently leave their bra on, or hold up the bed sheet. Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much. The whole point of Naomi [Lapaglia] is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. I don't want to be reduced to the clichés that come with being called sexy or a blonde bombshell. I want to keep looking for roles where the main interest will be in the character itself; her importance in driving a story forward rather than her relationship with the male character. But I think films like The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and Focus (2015) gave me a chance to play very charismatic and clever women - even though they do have a glamorous side. Show less «

And I said, first thing is I want to pay off my mom's mortgage. They said it was going to be a long time before I could afford to do that, but that's what we worked towards. Every couple of months I'd check in, 'do we have enough yet?' And then eventually he was like, you can afford to pay your mom's mortgage. It's a list of 500 questions or something. Whenever we had time to rehearse or improvise, or even in the scenes, I'd just start with those questions. Some of them are basic, and some of them are not. [I'd] see which ones would catch him off guard, how he'd react, and I'd be like, 'OK, I'm gonna go for this tactic now. It's a lot of trial and error. It's kinda like when your friend is doing something stupid in a relationship, and you're just so frustrated. You're like 'What are you doing? Why?' I landed upon codependency as the tact to take...
