Lisa Clark, age 59, is one of the increasing numbers of female racers, known for racing with Scuderia Corsa in the Ferrari Challenge, and in the EXR racing series, which comprises arrive-and-drive endurance competitions where drivers enter their own sanctioned race car. After completing several Corsa Pilota classes at Circuit of the Americas in Texas and Mont Tremblant in Canada, she took part in the Laguna Seca Raceway event in her Ferrari 458 Challenge Evo, being coached by former Alms drivers' champion Gunnar Jeannette. Racing runs thick in Clark's blood. Being raised in Phoenix, Ariz., with a father who loved desert motorsports, she got her first dirt bike at the age of 10. Later on, she learned to drive in a Ford F150 short bed with a manual transmission. Her father insisted on keeping things challenging, taking her into ravines and making her learn how to get out. After a serious injury in a motorcycle accident during college, she bought herself a Porsche 914, joined the Porsche Club of America, and started doing autocross. But it wasn't until the last few years that Clark started racing competitively, after converting a Porsche Cayman S into a track car and hired a coach to learn more.Clark, who owns a Ferrari 488 Pista, Ferrari 488 Challenge, a Mercedes-Amg G 63, and the aforementioned Porsche Cayman S, says she prefers modern sports cars and would like to drive a Bugatti and a McLaren P1 someday.Lisa Clark is an advocate for gender equality in racing and says there are more and more women out there who do it, but they just don't get enough support. She has been featured in the Netflix show called "Fastest Car", season 1, episode 5 "Racing is my drug". Show less «
