British actor Leon Stewart was born just outside of London. From an early age he caught the acting bug and enjoyed taking part in plays throughout his schooling. He trained at the City of Westminster University in Performing Arts and took the lead in greats like 'Othello' and 'Dr Faustus'. On graduation Leon was snapped up by award winning director Nicolas Ken to play the central character 'Dwayne Brooks' in the stage version of the Stephen Lawrence inquiry 'The Colour of Justice'. This outstanding and popular play was edited by award winning author Richard Norton Taylor and won an 'outstanding achievement award'. Due to huge popular demand and an amazing performance by Leon, a special performance was commissioned by and filmed for the BBC. He also toured as 'Dwayne Brooks' in 'The Color of Justice' to some of the UK's most prestigious theatres including 'The Royal National Theatre', 'Victoria Palace Theatre' and Belfast's 'Opera House'.Leon's talent lead him to be offered places in two of the UK's most prestigious Drama schools 'The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art' and 'London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art' (LAMDA), as well as New York's 'American Academy of Dramatic Art'. He chose LAMDA and graduated as an academy trained actor.On graduating Leon worked with some highly sort after directors including the award winning Michael J Cocker on the high rating prime time police drama 'The Bill', playing Loz Gillman who was accused of a crime he did not commit. Leon's good looks and charm played a huge part in is role as 'Love Bug' as a real ladies man on the BBC's hit comedy series 'Little Miss Joscelyn', this hilarious show was directed by Nick Phillips. In the hit crime series 'Proof Prescription for Murder' Leon shone as 'Lenny Okwume' and effortlessly played am honest man suffering from racial abuse.Again sharing his versatility and skill for comedy Leon recently shot the comedy pilot 'The Shop', playing the dodgy solicitor Richard Bull that was directed by Campbell Foster.
