Lauren's story is one of transformation. Born in Kansas City, Missouri she showed an interest in the arts from an early age. She was a published poet by the age of ten and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City's summer playwriting course on scholarship when she was fourteen. She later studied Classical Music Composition and Piano at the University. After college her career goals went in a completely different direction. She moved to San Diego in 1998 and immediately met her partner and future wife, local commercial photographer Elsa Flores. Together they built and ran Photo by Elsa, a successful photography and graphic design firm for ten years. Near the end of their fourteen year relationship Lauren began undergoing a transformation which can only be described as life-altering. Selling nutritional supplements for additional income, Lauren chose to use her favorite quote, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world," ~ Mahatma Gandhi, to be the guiding principle in her business. This became the catalyst on her journey toward a healthier lifestyle and ultimately led her back to her true passion. Acting. "My journey has blessed me with the ability connect to other's in a healing way and doing so is deeply fulfilling for me." ~Lauren Holiday Lauren lost 65 lbs over the course of a year and found the courage and confidence to begin her life over as an actress, voice over artist, and stand-up comic. She quite literally is a late bloomer, finding her voice as an artist again in her thirties. As an incest survivor, Lauren recently joined the RAINN Speaker's Bureau as a speaker and advocate for victims of rape, abuse and incest. Lauren spent four years doing stand-up comedy in San Diego, and Los Angeles and studied Improv with local San Diego troupe Roar Theatre as well as Second City. "Stand-up has been amazing for me. It gave me the courage and toughness to handle anything, and the agility to be prepared for it." ~Lauren Holiday She has been in dozens of local, regional, and national commercials and has a growing film and television resume.
