Lace Williams was born in Washington, DC on July 28th. At age eleven, in an attempt to force the incredibly shy youth out of her shell, her parents placed her in a youth performing arts program. It concluded with the play, "Charlotte's Jazzy Web," an upbeat jazz infused musical adaptation of the original narrative by author, E. B. White. Lace played the role of Mrs. Zuckerman, whose character's hysterical moment of discovery on stage, served as Lace's first dramatic breakthrough. While still in high school, she was cast in the role of, Daisy, in Eugene Ionesco's, "Rhinoceros." Being her first lead role on stage, the experience inspired her to pursue an acting career. After high school Lace enrolled in Howard University's prestigious Department of Fine Arts, furthering her theatrical training, while developing her on-camera skills in Los Angeles during the summer. Her theatrical performances include: "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" by Tennessee Williams, "GUM" by Karen Hartman, and her most celebrated performance as, Cleopatra, in "Antony and Cleopatra" by William Shakespeare, which won her the Owen Dodson Award for "Best Actress." Upon graduating cum laude from Howard University, Lace immediately began to book national commercials on the east coast for major brands including: Hanes, Playtex bras, and Better Homes and Gardens. She also landed a feature role in the final season of HBO's "The Wire." It is no surprise that Lace's seamless transition from the theatre to the camera prompted her move to Los Angeles. Since her professional career began, Lace was cast in a recurring role in the historical series, "Courage, New Hampshire." A supporting role in the film, "Douglass U," followed, along with a lead role in the thriller, "Intruder." Lace continues to apply due diligence in her pursuit of being the best representative of excellence in her craft. She welcomes new ideas and opportunities with a delightfully positive abandon. Having the courage to take risks and explore outside of her comfort zone, has brought her to a place of limitless possibilities. Success is undoubted for this talented young star. Show less «
