Kira was born in Santa Monica, California on 3 May 1985. She grew up in Gardena and Thousand Oaks, CA.Around the year 2000, she joined a casting agency and was booked on jobs such as Disney's "Lizzie McGuire" and Fox's "Grounded for Life." After a few years, she realized she'd prefer to work behind the camera instead of on-screen.While in school at Moorpark College, Kira focused her studies on Film & Entertainment. She got a job at a post-production studio in Westlake Village called Eric Blum Productions, Inc., where she worked as a production assistant.She transferred to Cal State Northridge in Spring 2006 where she started working towards her Bachelors degree in Cinema, Television, and Arts with an option in Film Production and an emphasis in Editing. During her introductory film classes, she edited a silent movie called "Tasty Treats," wrote a short called "Juice," and also produced a short video, "CheckDate."Kira left Eric Blum Productions at the end of January 2008 and got an internship at E! Entertainment in the Short Form Production and New Media Content department. She also helped out in E! Radio. In April 2008, they hired her as a Production Assistant for "E! Presents Comcast on Demand" where she edited promos for movies and TV shows available on Video On Demand.Kira got her Minor in Business Administration in the Spring of 2007 and finished her Bachelors degree in the Spring of 2008. She produced a short film called "Undying Love," which was awarded a large grant from the camera company, Arri. She also worked on two other shorts: "Project: Life" and "TAG." The Hollywood Foreign Press Association donated $5000 to each of these films she participated in, and all of them went on to show and win awards at worldwide film festivals.Her production company is called Extra Mocha Productions, named after her favorite ice blended drink from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Her hobbies include producing, editing, and researching her ancestry.Her responsibilities at E! over the years changed from working in production on "Fashion Police" and "E! True Hollywood Story" to non-linear programming in the Digital Media department. She gradually transitioned into her role as Programming Supervisor for E!, Style, G4, and Esquire Network at NBCUniversal before moving on to The Walt Disney Company.At Disney/ABC Television Group, Kira publishes long form and short form video to multi-platform services.
