Named after the first president of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta, and Muhammad Ali, Kenyatta Ali Chapple was born almost a month premature in Philadelphia General Hospital. The middle of three children, his curiosity was recognized from an early age in the form of his constantly taking things apart, which got him into plenty of trouble with his struggling, single mother. Miami, Florida became his new home at age 5, when his mother married and relocated he and his two sisters to the balmy new climate.Kenyatta exhibited a penchant for words when, in the fourth grade, he won a Halloween story contest that got his story printed in the Miami Sun Sentinal. He followed that by writing a plea to President Reagan to curtail nuclear escalation, in response to seeing the television movie "The Day After."Played Indio in a high school stage production of West Side Story.He built a name for himself in the South Florida music scene as Ken-Ali, fronting several bands, including his latest endeavor, Singing for A.J.After almost a decade of working in the restaurant business, opportunity came in the form of painful illness. Re-evaluating his priorities, Ken-Ali dedicated the next three years to building his skill set to become a greater asset for the larger community of musicians, which led to him being referred to as 'the Minister of Information' and the face of Bandcode.net, a musicians' resource site.Eager to put his experience to broader use, Ken-Ali relocated to Los Angeles, where chance brought him into the company of entertainment industry veteran Marshal Silverman.
