Karina Junker

Karina Junker, born on May 3, 1980 and a native of Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, moved to the United States when she was eight years old. She began taking piano and singing lessons at an early age and performed in local plays as a teenager. At the age of 18, Junker went to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to do community service for two weeks, but fell in love with the island so much that she stayed for five years. It was during this time that she booked her first international commercial and print campaign for Tricom. Junker attended Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, where she did a three-year study in Psychology. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico in 2002.During Junker's first semester in graduate school at Columbia University, her mother was involved in a serious car accident, which left her in a coma for nine years. Despite the hardship, Junker completed her degree, receiving a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. Witnessing first hand the fragility of life, Junker had a change of heart and opted to immerse herself completely in her lifelong passion -- acting.Junker's most notable work includes being selected as the official voice for Curacao Department Stores; her role as a bilingual television host for Cigna-HealthSpring which aired on Univision and Telemundo; a supporting role as 'Tatiana' in Mercury Plains, starring Scott Eastwood, Clint's son; an international Hispanic market commercial as the voice for Starbucks Refreshers; the voice for the feature film campaign 'Bless Me, Ultima'; the voice for a Speech Recognition Software for Toshiba; and a print advertising campaign for United Airlines & Chase Bank.Junker is currently signed by WME Entertainment, Reign Agency, Ford Models, Page.713 and Page.214. Her training and mentorship has been alongside some of the world's most recognized coaches, actors, musicians, entrepreneurs, television personalities and casting directors: Patsy Rodenburg, Risa Bramon Garcia, Steve Braun, Josh Green, Beto Cuevas, Mathew Knowles, John Quiñones, Randy Thom, Deke Anderson, Kris Kyer, Robert Haas, Kendra Shay Clark, Ricki G. Maslar, Cathy Henderson, and Shannon Flynn.Junker is also on the roster of dance music record labels in Europe and the US: King Street Sounds, Highway Records, Polar-Rec and Liebe*Detail. She has collaborated in the studio by doing the vocals for respected DJ's such as Chris Lattner, Kruse & Nürnberg, Namito, Tigerskin and Dance Spirit.In addition to her dedication to the performing arts, Junker is an avid runner and a Kundalini Yoga practitioner. She has ran many races including the Chevron Houston Marathon, Rocky Raccoon 25K, Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon, BMW Frankfurt Marathon, Malibu Half Marathon, and L.A. Halloween Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon. She also volunteers and serves as a Board Member for the Columbia University Alumni Association of Southern California.Junker is an MLA student in Dramatic Arts at Harvard University and also attends the Bramon Garcia Braun Studio in Hollywood.
