Joe Maurer

Joe was born on November 1, 1978 and raised in New Bremen, Ohio. At the age of 25 he wrote his first screen play entitled "Away from the sun". He held on to this script for 5 years before he finally allowed anyone to read it. A friend liked the script so well that she passed it on to a film maker named Len Archibald who would eventually film his first feature film "beating traffic" to which he would ask Joe to be apart of. They would enter this film to to multiple film festivals all over the United State. With limited finances, They were unable to attend each one of the film festivals from across the country. Because of this situation, Len approached Joe with the idea of creating a film festival in Ohio to be affordable to other film makers such as themselves, and centrally located with in the U.S. thus the Northwest Ohio Independent Film Festival was born in 2011. Through the festival Joe was introduced to a theatrical director named Linda McClure who would ask him to be apart of a show she was doing. Thus Joe's theatrical career was born, to which he as gone on to perform on stage in such shows as "The Full Monty", "White Christmas", and "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Show less «
