Ford grew up in West Boylston, Massachusetts. He is the son of John, a fire-fighter, and Linda, a nurse. At a very young age began making short films with friends and writing scripts. He was athletic as a kid and played a wide variety of sports. Towards the end of high school he began focusing more on acting and decided to do more theatre. Jim, then attended the renowned acting conservatory: The Hartt School, in West Hartford, Connecticut, where he received his B.F.A. in drama. He also studied Shakespeare extensively in England. Jim has combined his classical training and athletic background to amass a large and diverse amount of credits, which include everything from art house indie films to 100 million dollar action films. [on filming the movie "The Town" in Boston] Usually, when you're filming a movie, there are a lot of trailers for the actors, stuntmen, and everyone else. Fenway didn't have the room to allow for all the trailers. I was given the WB Mason suite box. I had my breakfast that morning and walked into the suite, through the room with the big leather coach and kitchenette, and right out onto the balcony with four or five seats overlooking the park. I sat there eating my breakfast and watching the guy mow the lawn at Fenway. I think it was the best breakfast I ever had. Show less «
