Giorgio Serafini was born in Brussels, Belgium from Italian parents.Without formal training in film school, Giorgio has always considered The Museum of Cinema of Brussels to have been his real teacher. Giorgio wrote and directed his first semi-professional short, "The Nickelodeon Type" as he was completing his studies in Political Science and International Relations at the UniversitĂ© Libre de Belgique.During his college years, Giorgio read and fell in love with a book by Gaetano Tumiati, "Prigionieri nel Texas" about the true story of Italian Prisoners of War in a camp located in Texas during WWII. In December, 1989, he received the European Script Fund to develop a script about that same topic. Giorgio decided to use the Fund a documentary as part of his research for the screenplay. The result is "The Walls of Sand" shot in Italy and in the Texas Panhandle. That same year Giorgio and his friend, Kalindi Dighe, decided to co-direct an English speaking film set in Brussels and in Italy titled "The Junkyard Angel". Unfortunately, the shooting soon became a nightmare and the film is, to this date, unedited. While filming, Giorgio met actress, France Demoulin. He married her in June,1991. In December, 1991, Giorgio and France moved from Brussels to Rome to finally start production on "Blu Notte". The film had a very limited budget but turned out to be an artsy, interesting piece. While Giorgio was editing the movie, France delivered Laura Bodi Tess, their only daughter. During the three years spent in Rome Giorgio also wrote the screenplay for "Supplì", directed by Vincenzo Verdecchi and presented at the Settimana della Critica of the Venice Film Festival in 1992.In 1994, producer, Massimo Civilotti, sent Giorgio to Los Angeles to close a co-production deal for "Loveblind", a comedy Giorgio wrote and was supposed to direct. At the end of three months in L.A., Giorgio decided to move to the US. At first he survived with small jobs writing and directing, including a promo film for Attorney General, Alexander Haigh. One of those jobs for hire was directing the feature movie "The Garbage Man" starring Frank Stallone. Finally in summer, 2000, the long awaited project about Italian POWs in Texas started shooting with Roy Scheider as the lead. When Italian TV-mogul, Guido De Angelis saw a screening of "Texas 46" he asked Giorgio to direct a project for Italian production company Titanus. That's how Giorgio became involved with directing the three seasons of one of the most successful Italian TV series of all times "Orgoglio".On July 11, 2005 his much beloved daughter Laura passed in a tragic accident. She was only 13.Giorgio directed several TV series in Europe from 2003 to 2009, then, fade up with the Italian system, decided to go back to the States.Since then he has wrote and/or directed 7 feature films and worked with actors such as Wesley Snipes, Billy Zane, Dolph Lundgren, Vinnie Jones, Randy Couture, Cung Le. Amongs those films is the feature-length documentary about the deported "Without Borders/Sin Fronteras".Giorgio is now an American citizen. He lives in the Hollywood Hills with his wife actress/writer LaDon Drummond and their son Johnny Sinclair, born in Turin during the shooting of a TV series in 2008.LaDon and Giorgio wrote and produced the multi-award winner feature drama "Johnny's Gone".
