Erin Elizabeth Reed was born in Wharton, Texas, the oldest of four children. Her parents moved the growing family to the nearby town of East Bernard, Texas, when Erin was six to take advantage of the education system there. Although she'd performed sporadically in recitals and plays as a child, she found lasting inspiration to take the stage while watching a performance of the high school's One Act Play her freshman year. She auditioned for and performed in the school's One Act Play her remaining three years in high school, earning Best Actress or Best Ensemble awards in University Interscholastic League (U.I.L.) competition each year. After graduating high school, Erin attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Theatre. The minor afforded her less opportunity to act than she would have liked, and so she concentrated instead on playwriting. Upon finishing her undergraduate degree, she was accepted into the University of Texas School of Law, where she found a creative outlet in the student-run musical parody group, Assault & Flattery.During her final year in law school, Erin accepted a position with the international law firm Haynes & Boone in their Houston office's Business Litigation section. She put her acting ambitions on hold for the next few years until she joined Night Court, the Houston Bar Association's musical parody organization, a charity fundraiser similar in concept to Assault & Flattery. Her passions reignited, Erin finally began seeking what she could learn about film. She quickly gained representation in Texas and began taking classes on film technique. Since the fall of 2011, Erin has worked in numerous theater productions, shorts, commercials, web series, and independent feature films. With her career flourishing faster than she'd imagined, Erin left the practice of law completely in the spring of 2012. Later that year she booked a role opposite Nicolas Cage in the film "Joe," directed by David Gordon Green. The movie is considered her Hollywood debut. In January 2014, Erin relocated from Houston to Los Angeles to further her work. She continues to train with industry veterans. Show less «
