Dominic Daniel, a Detroit native, began snatching up roles in movies, commercials and television right after an unlikely chance was taken by an agent, who he delivered packages for, gave him a shot at an audition. Shortly after landing a Chevy Equinox Campaign the ball got rolling, giving Dominic a venue to demonstrate his skills on the small screen on shows like The Shield, Charmed, Guilty or Innocent and The Loop.Born in the city that gave birth to Motown, Dominic, following in his mother's footsteps, developed a flair for writing poetry and clever short stories. It wasn't until he was 13 and had to serve in detention for his class-clowning antics, that the acting bug bit him, when the schools vice-principal made him perform in a play for black history month. She recognized a gift in Dominic and gave him the leading role of Martin Luther King. He stood before the audience, terrified and dry-mouthed, but when the cheering and applause began, he knew there was nothing else he'd rather do than perform.Dominic's acting and writing skills garnered him a scholarship to Western Michigan University's Theater program where he double-majored in theater and criminal justice. Believing "where there is a will, there is a way," he has always pursued his dreams without faltering. After graduating he toured around the world appearing at various comedy venues as part of the comic duo "Byte and Bannister". Three years later, an experienced actor emerged and Dominic packed his bags for Hollywood, bound for bigger and better dreams.Dominic's starring role in the Los Angeles Black Film Festival's award winning short, Destiny's Child (2003), caught the attention of director Jeremy Paul Kagan and lead to his feature film introduction in Showtime's Original film, Crown Heights, with Mario Van Peebles and Howie Mandel. In fall 2006 Dominic stole the show as "Boots" in Bottoms Up, starring Paris Hilton and Kevin Smith. He has 3 features slated for release in 2007: Freedom Writers; the title role in Code Black Entertainment's Young Caesar; and as "Officer Fox" in D.J. Caruso's Disturbia with Shia LeBeouf and Carrie-Anne Moss.Having resurged his first love of writing he's now penned three feature scripts that he looks forward to seeing manifested into films. His next move is to produce and become a filmmaker. Show less «
