Dexter Colcord Masland was born on September 22, 1989 in Berkeley, CA. He is the son of Jon and Melissa Masland, and has two sisters and one brother. Dexter grew up playing sports in the San Francisco Bay Area, but when an ACL injury at the age of 12 sidelined him for several years, he began acting in school plays. He continued acting at the USC School of Dramatic Arts and the British American Drama Academy in London. Upon graduating in 2013, he began modeling and acting professionally in Los Angeles.
