Colin Minihan grew up in the small coastal logging town of Port McNeill, on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. He discovered film at a very young age and by his mid 20's had directed nearly a hundred music videos for a diverse range of international recording artists, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Papa Roach, Hedley, Marianas Trench, Mother Mother, Theory of a Deadman and many more. At only 24, he won the MuchMusic Video Director of The Year Award in 2009. Soon after, under the pseudonym The Vicious Brothers, he co-wrote and co-directed the feature film Grave Encounters, which premiered at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival and has since become a global success. Soon after, Minihan co-wrote the sequel Grave Encounters 2 which was released by Tribeca Film in 2012. After this, Minihan co-wrote and directed the ambitious science fiction horror pic Extraterrestrial. The Film was picked up by IFC Midnight in the US and Elevation in Canada after premiering at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. More recently, Minihan co-wrote edited and directed It Stains The Sands Red, which had its world premiere at the Sitges International Film Festival (2016) where it won the Midnight X-Treme Award and was nabbed by MPI Media Group.
