I was brought up with my parents' love for dark Renaissance art. I can go on about my love for '80s horror, '50s Hammer and sci-fi movies, H.P. Lovecraft, Barker, the new extreme French horror of the last 10 years, the dark atmospheres of such amazing films as Calvaire (2004), Vinyan (2008) and Only God Forgives (2013), dark kids' pictures such as Krull (1983) and The Dark Crystal (1982), Frank Frazetta's Conan, all the computer games I played in the '90s, Phantasmagoria, Darkseed, Sanitarium and Gaming: Doom (1993 Original Game) (2016) and album covers of Manowar and Iron Maiden. But I'd like to think that my inspirations are from a broader source: real-life horrors, modern art, pop art and fairy tales combined. Show less «
