Cabil Gibbs was born April 11, 1979 in a home birth in Boulder, Colorado. He grew up and attended school in Linden, Virginia. After finishing high school, he attended flight school at Embry Riddle in Dayton Beach, Florida. While not in class, Cabil often played beach volleyball. Two gentlemen attending a convention happened upon him on the beach and inquired as to whether or not he had ever considered modeling. Cabil was offered a contract and traveled to New York City. What started on the beach led to a 5 year international modeling career where he worked with brands including Armani, L'oreal, and Martini and appeared in magazines including GQ, Cosmopolitan, and Glamour. After 5 years in the industry Cabil took a break to pursue his passion for beach volleyball. After training with top volleyball professionals, he learned that the time he took to pursue modeling instead of continuing to train left him unable to compete at the top levels. Cabil then traveled and studied acting in New York under Nina Murano, in Los Angeles at Howard Fine Studios, and in Austin, Texas with Laurel Vouvray. Cabil fell in love with the city of Austin and while there answered a casting call for a detective role. He moved successfully from this role and quickly found success within the Austin film industry. While in Austin he has worked with directors including Richard Linklater, Terrence Malick, Robert Rodriguez, and John Ridley and on projects like Revolution (NBC), Defiance, and Genesis. Through acting Cabil was introduced to the stunt community within the film industry and has worked with coordinators including Jeff Schwan and Jeff Dashnaw. He has performed stunts on projects including American Crime (ABC), Killer Women (ABC), and Machete Kills. Moving forward Cabil is looking to expand on his current work in the film industry and grow his professional career by pursuing opportunities within Austin and beyond. Show less «
