Angela Calo is a graduate of the Catholic University of America (Class of 2000) with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater. She started her career as a professional actress and singer very early on, doing her first jingle for Boyle's Shoes at the age of three. Angela is a member of AFTRA, SAG and Actor's Equity and has worked alongside established actors such as Danny Glover, Tracy Ullman, Selma Blair, Andre Braugher, Eliza Dushku, and Edward Furlong. She has worked for well known directors such as John Waters, Barry Levinson and Jodie Foster. Angela has been seen on network television including America's Most Wanted and Homicide: Life on the Street. She recently worked on "A Dirty Shame" directed by John Waters, "Something the Lord Made" a movie made for HBO and "The State" which is a pilot directed by Clark Johnson whom Angela worked alongside on her first episode of Homicide. Ms. Calo is an accomplished singer, voice-over and narration talent and has worked regularly for the Kennedy Center, Discovery Channel, Learning Channel and a number of other commercial clients. Ms. Calo has performed the National Anthem a number of times at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland and at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. She has also sung the anthem for the Baltimore Colts Reunion, MLB Spring Training, College Basketball games and at the 2003 Baltimore Marathon. Her National Anthem can be heard on HOT 99.5 FM in the DC/Metro area. Angela's single "Nothing Comes For Free" aired daily in Washington, DC and nationally on all clearchannel radio stations when she became a semifinalist in the Clearchannel radio contest "I want to be a radio star" in March 2004. Angela has performed in Europe with the CUA touring company and has sung for the Pope at his summer home in Rome, Italy. Ms. Calo spent time in the studio last summer recording several tracks for a fund raising CD for the Special Olympics. She sang for the opening of the 2003 Special Olympics Summer Games at Cole Field House on the UMD campus and was a featured performer at the 2nd annual S.O.M.D. benefit concert. Angela has just completed a 9 month contract as a lead vocalist with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines aboard the Voyager of the Seas and is currently auditioning in New York. Show less «
