Originally from sunny Orlando Florida, Alano is the youngest of eight. He is Cuban, Bahamian, and Jamaican. Born the son of an architect and an educator, his parents greatly influenced his development and choice of vocation. From the manner in which he crafts a role or speaks fervently on any given topic, Alano has an indomitable work ethic with the talent to match.He began public speaking when he was five years old. By the time he graduated High School, he amassed a score of awards and titles including Most Outstanding Senior Award, Six time Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Winner, and the Key to the City of Orlando. He holds three national titles in oratory: Elks of the World, NAACP and Modern Woodsman of America. Out of 8,500 students nationwide he won the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts Award. In 1997, he received the Presidential Scholar Award from President Bill Clinton.Alano Millers first theatrical role was as Oliver in Oliver Twist. Theatrical credits include Malcolm King in Nathan Louis Jacksons Broke -ology (Lincoln Center.) Marcus in Marcus or the Secret of Sweet, (McCarter) and Elegba in The Brothers Size and In the Red and Brown Water (McCarter) written by New York Times Award winning playwright, Tarell Alvin McCraney. Other roles include Cory in Fences, G.H. in Native Son, and Paul in Six Degrees of Separation.
