M.O.D.O.K. - Season 1

Some of the episodes are more forgettable than others, but it has a consistent cleverness that makes its flaws easy to overlook, especially when the lines are delivered by such talented voice actors.

The animation technique underscores the mandate to think outside the box, which should generally be applauded. That said, even in the world of supervillains designed for killing, just because you can doesn't always mean that you should.

The voices and pell-mell references are the biggest reason why a 10-episode weekend binge of Marvel's MODOK amounted to such easy, quickly digested entertainment.

Clearly the result of a brilliant, nefarious scheme to make must-see supervillain TV.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. combines a quick-witted style of humor with the fan favorite Marvel brand to create an unexpected good time.

M.O.D.O.K. sometimes falls flat on its face in its efforts to switch from being ludicrous to poignant and sincere. But again, Oswalt, Blum and their many collaborators have crafted an enjoyably peculiar sandbox to play in.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. has many good chunks of comedy, making it easy entertainment and doing just enough to extend our imagination within the Marvel realms.

Not funny. And MODOK in every single scene is simply too much MODOK. There's too much good superhero TV out right now to waste time on this.

M.O.D.O.K. takes the tried and true Marvel formula, rips it up, eats it, and vomits it back up in a series that is delightfully over-the-top, incredibly silly, shockingly vulgar, and somehow truly emotional.

M.O.D.O.K. is an outlier among the many Marvel TV and movie properties - and that's a good thing...It is weird and ridiculous and an absolute delight, the sort of show that might not be for you, but if you dig it, well ... you will DIG IT.

I never thought I'd say this, but M.O.D.O.K has somehow developed into one of my favourite Marvel characters and I can't wait to see where he goes next.

M.O.D.O.K. isn't as sharply written as The Venture Bros., but it aspires to that same zany mix of sitcom and satire, centered on a pathetic, unsympathetic protagonist.
