Wildlike
TrailerMackenzie, a troubled but daring teenage girl, is sent by her struggling mother to live with her uncle in Juneau, Alaska. Although Uncle seems like a supportive caretaker and friend, the relationship turns and Mackenzie is forced to run. Trying to make her way back to Seattle alone to find her absent mother, Mackenzie only winds up deeper in the Alaskan interior. Lost and with no one else to turn to, she shadows a loner backpacker, Bartlett, an unlikely father figure with scars of his own. Together, they cross the wilderness and discover sanctuary in the last frontier.Actors: Ella Purnell, Brian Geraghty, Diane Farr, Joshua Leonard, Julia Forster, Christopher Constant, Paul Wilcox, Thomas Daly, Teddy Kyle Smith, Ossie Kairaiuak, Russell Josh Peterson, ...»Director: Frank Hall GreenCountry: United StatesDuration: 104 minQuality: HDRelease: 2015IMDb: 6.60 CommentsSort By- Newest

Critic Reviews of "Wildlike"
Los Angeles TimesSeptember 27, 2015An uncommon and deeply sensitive take on this type of story.
New York TimesSeptember 24, 2015The "Wildlike" landscapes are exhilarating, but when the film works, it's because of the interiors.
Seattle TimesSeptember 24, 2015Green explores an atypical relationship between a solitary, 50-something man who finds that a vulnerable but determined kid has attached herself to him, no matter what, as he sets off into the wild.
Chicago ReaderSeptember 24, 2015Frank Hall Green, directing his own script, maintains a poker-faced perspective, offering no hints as to where the story might lead and allowing scenes to unfold casually.
Village VoiceSeptember 22, 2015Green has deeper ambitions, eschewing procedural survival-in-the-wilderness material for a strong focus on character.
Film School RejectsSeptember 30, 2015Finds beauty, calm, and trust between two strangers and makes it as compelling an experience as any big-budget spectacle could ever hope to create.
The PlaylistSeptember 26, 2015"Wildlike" is not a traditional Hollywood feel-good buddy road movie, but a semi-slow burn experience that takes its subject matter and characters seriously while unrolling the central relationship of the story in a refreshingly deliberate pace.
NOW TorontoSeptember 24, 2015Purnell and Greenwood make the most of silence, discovering that much can be communicated through darting glances, weary movement and the slow buildup to a hopeful smile.
CompuserveSeptember 24, 2015Essentially a two-hander with solid performances and minimalist dialogue.
NUVO NewsweeklyJuly 16, 2015Writer-director Frank Hall Green has crafted an engaging feature that touches the heart without getting sappy.
