Rose AnonymousI usually don't have high expectations for live actions based off manga or anime but i was pleasantly surprised by this. I really enjoyed this adaption, good actors true to character and some brilliant CGI effects made the manga come to life. I would totally recommend this and can't wait for the next movie.2018-05-27 20:05Keywords: -

Critic Reviews of "Tokyo Ghoul (Tôkyô gûru) [Sub: Eng]"
VarietyAugust 01, 2017Stylishly decorated and generating all-important sympathy for a character living precariously in two worlds, director Kentaro Hagiwara's feature debut gets the drama right but is let down by visual effects that are sometimes unconvincing.
South China Morning PostAugust 29, 2017It is a pity that the director's vision often feels at odds with the film's more commercial obligations.
The Straits Times (Singapore)August 23, 2017[Director] Kentaro Hagiwara's dark and violent Tokyo Ghoul is more nuanced and layered in its indictment.
Japan TimesJuly 26, 2017First-time director Hagiwara resists the sort of wretched excess found in the Parasyte films (particularly the histrionic second part), while keeping the action taut and the tension high.
NerdistJuly 23, 2017Unfortunately, Kubota doesn't inspire much interest with his performance.
