ReelViewsJanuary 31, 2004Next time, director Robbins and his screenwriters should spend a few hours inside a real high school rather than re-hashing stock stereotypes from bad '80s movies.
Salon.comJanuary 31, 2004Lively and fun in places, but overall it has a listless, tepid feel.

Washington PostJanuary 30, 2004A bizarre mismatch of The Breakfast Club and Mission: Impossible.
Toronto StarJanuary 30, 2004Is there not something just plain wrong with a movie about cheating on exams that's less fun than taking one?
Seattle TimesJanuary 30, 2004Kids facing the SAT in real life may appreciate this movie, if only because it'll make them feel so much smarter than these characters. For the rest of us, it flunks.
Common Sense MediaDecember 28, 2010Not terrible, but this MTV teen movie falls flat.
Reel Film ReviewsAugust 01, 2006Squarely aimed at teens with little regard for anyone else...
Tyler Morning Telegraph (Texas)September 16, 2004The work of a filmmaker and team of writers so conscious of their own formulaic crutch that they demand a production that feels like more than the sum of its parts.
Local Planet Weekly (Spokane, WA)April 16, 2004The Perfect Score is amenable, enjoyable and as quickly forgotten as all those tricks you learned in your SAT prep class.
BBC.comMarch 16, 2004What could, and should, have been as fun and daring as skipping school turns out to be as dull as a two-hour detention.
