Critic Reviews of "The Flintstones"
New York TimesAugust 30, 2004While the movie may act like a madeleine for television-obsessed baby-boomers, it works even better as a colorful playland that will appeal to small children.
ReelViewsJanuary 01, 2000Maybe it's because so many of the things they do in the movie are lifted directly from the show, but a lot of stuff seems stale.
Chicago Sun-TimesJanuary 01, 2000Just watching it is fun. Following the plot is not so much fun.
Film.comJanuary 01, 2000It's a dull day in Bedrock.
Washington PostJanuary 01, 2000A $45 million design problem with 98 minutes of weak prehistoric jokes.
Blu-ray.comSeptember 27, 2014Someone, somewhere gave the keys to the kingdom to director Brian Levant, who's leaden ways with screen comedy are amplified in this unfunny, hyperactive translation of a property that's best served through animation.
Common Sense MediaJanuary 02, 2011Zany cave-age antics leaven too-serious plot.
Shadows on the WallApril 21, 2008an almost-successful comedy experiment
Dispatch-Tribune NewspapersDecember 08, 2006Cartoonish live-action fun with well cast cast.
