Prospect
TrailerThis sci-fi movie tells of a terrible scientific imagination, where a teenage girl and her father travel to the distant alien moon, in order to get the treasure. They've got a contract to harvest a large deposit of dodgy gems hidden deep in the toxic moon forest. Maybe it might be wrong where there are others traveling to the wild and moving quickly to a struggle for survival. In the end, this girl was forced to resist not only the other harsh jungle inhabitants, but with her greedy father's rule that changed everything.Genre: Sci-FiActors: Sophie Thatcher, Jay Duplass, Pedro Pascal, Luke Pitzrick, Arthur Deranleau, Andre Royo, Alex McCauley, Doug Dawson, Krista Johnson, Brian Gunter, Sheila Vand, ...»Director: Christopher Caldwell, Zeek EarlCountry: Canada, United StatesDuration: 100 minQuality: HDRelease: 2018IMDb: 6.30 CommentsSort By- Newest

Critic Reviews of "Prospect"
Houston ChronicleNovember 08, 2018The defiantly lo-fi "Prospect" is a smartly entertaining throwback that doesn't need a Marvel movie's worth of CGI to make its point.
Los Angeles TimesNovember 05, 2018The film balances genre thrills with a detailed depiction of prospecting on an alien world, created via a mix of practical locations (shot in a damp Northwestern forest) and some psychedelic digital backdrops.
RogerEbert.comNovember 02, 2018It's rare to see a sci-fi movie that genuinely has a true grit to it, a characteristic that bolsters its screenplay through its more underwhelming passages.
RogerEbert.comMarch 18, 2018While the effort is admirable and there are elements that work, Prospect never clicked for me.
VarietyMarch 12, 2018"Prospect" has one thing that most indie sci-fi movies don't, and which any human desperately needs when traveling to unfamiliar worlds: atmosphere.
Projected FiguresFebruary 22, 2019Combining elements of The Defiant Ones (1958) and True Grit (whether Henry Hathaway's 1969 original or the Coen brothers' 2010 remake), Prospect may come with the interstellar trappings of sci-fi, but it has as much in common with a frontiers western
Floated Alternative Culture MagazineFebruary 09, 2019While many sci-fi films rely heavily on visual effects and the idiosyncrasies of foreign worlds, Prospect entertains viewers in the best way possible: with substance rather than grandeur.
eFilmCritic.comFebruary 07, 2019Hits more than it misses and even when it stumbles, it is still making more of an effort than a lot of recent genre efforts.
Boston HeraldDecember 04, 2018Like the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine (aka Metal Hurlant) come to life. Cast excellent. Thatcher and Pascal have True Grit chemistry.
Cambridge DayNovember 29, 2018Prospect also moves in bends and inflections that are largely - and pleasantly - unpredictable.
Reeling ReviewsNovember 28, 2018create[s], through imagination and simple effects, a story about prospectors, claim jumpers, survival and greed in what used to be called a "space oater."
