Jewison's romantic comedy is a well-made fluff, a handsome trifle that's easily watched and just as easily forgettable; a pale effort compared to Jewison's Moon Struck, and Marisa Tomei is really not a romantic lead.

One of those movies that evaporates from memory the moment you leave the theater.

Too schmaltzy by half, and Downey and Tomei just never click.

Tomei was absolutely perfect. A sweeter, prettier and more innocent actress you would be hard to find.

A 'Cinderella' tale that is also a sweet and frequently funny romantic comedy with a charming cast.
