Ben AnonymousNever Knock is surprisingly good for a sy fy movie. The creature is befittingly creepy as is the lore behind it. (They probably got a contortionist to wear the monster suit!) Granted,we've seen the whole 'Feeds off our fear" theme before and this movie probably suffered just a little during a time most horror fans were excited about the new 2 part rendition of IT. Still, Never Knock is not a complete copy cat with even the way of hurting the main baddie being a pretty original concept in and of itself. The acting is a cut above typical B-movie sy-fy fare and the locations chosen were perfect for this kind of Halloween thriller adventure story. (There's even a satisfactory body count so despite a teen rating they certainly didn't pull any punches.) I was also relieved the characters were "bearable". Aka, no outdated "stoner" "jock" "yuppie" and "bad gurl" stereotypes, they simply come off as believable young people dealing with this "thing" the best ways they can. (Whilst being scared witless!) I actually recommend this one! Definitely in Cecil's territory of "Good Bad Flicks" as it were!2019-12-05 03:12 -
