TruthBTold Anonymousbeautiful film. Great performances from all the actors. I only question the casting of the "Chirone" during his teenage years because the actor was so different in appearance. But his acting was phenom. Casting from "Little" and adult "Chirone" was good, it looked like the little guy could have grown up to resemble the older "Chirone". On the role of "Kevin", the only resemblance that matched was from high school "Kevin" to older "Kevin." The high school bully, looked and acted more like a closeted homosexual to me, than the actual characters who were gay. lol. Janelle Monae was really good too, and the mother, her acting was great.2019-02-06 11:02Keywords: -

Critic Reviews of "Moonlight"
ReelViewsDecember 08, 2016Although Barry Jenkins' film is indeed about the struggles and difficulties of a person embracing his culturally reviled sexuality, the story is universal in scope and intent.
New York TimesNovember 11, 2016Moonlight is both a disarmingly, at times almost unbearably personal film and an urgent social document, a hard look at American reality and a poem written in light, music and vivid human faces.
St. Louis Post-DispatchNovember 10, 2016Basking in this "Moonlight" is one of the cinematic joys of the year.
Detroit NewsNovember 04, 2016"Moonlight" is a film of rare grace - a tender, compassionate, restrained look at a life lived in the shadows.
Japan TimesApril 05, 2017Moonlight is a pretty good film that has been embarrassingly over-hyped.
4:3April 01, 2017In Moonlight, moments of physical collision are filmed to emphasise their tactility.
Cinema em CenaMarch 24, 2017A delicate and sensitive masterpiece. [Full review in Portuguese.]
SFistMarch 23, 2017Chiron's entire life is filled with so much pain and hardship that you can't help but feel an increasing sense of fear and tension that suddenly, things could go completely and tragically wrong. Imagine living with that fear every day of your life.
