In the Heart of the Sea
TrailerIn the Heart of the Sea is based on the sinking of the American whaling ship Essex in 1820. In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and strength attacks with force, crippling their ship and leaving them adrift in the ocean. During their voyage, the ship is sunk when it is rammed and split in half by a very large and enraged bull sperm whale, ultimately leaving its crew shipwrecked at sea for 90 days and more than a thousand miles from land.Actors: Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Ben Whishaw, Michelle Fairley, Tom Holland, Paul Anderson, Frank Dillane, Joseph Mawle, Edward Ashley, ...»Director: Ron HowardCountry: United States, Australia, SpainDuration: 122 minQuality: HDRelease: 2015IMDb: 6.92 CommentsSort By- Newest

Mikey AnonymousDon't bother reading the critics section of this movie, they're a bunch of retards who REALLY should not be giving any critical feedback on movies. This movie has a great storyline, very deep, very moving and lots of great actors in it too. Certainly worth watching.2019-08-19 01:08cunt235 Anonymoustom holland looks hot2018-11-16 22:11Keywords: -

Critic Reviews of "In the Heart of the Sea"
BuzzFeed NewsDecember 16, 2015The vintage grotesquerie of the regular old whaling process turns out to be more disturbing than the dark adventures that are In the Heart of the Sea's reason for being.
New York PostDecember 14, 2015Warner Bros. would have been better off sticking with the film's original March release date and selling it as a horror movie.
New YorkerDecember 14, 2015If you want a Ron Howard movie about a man obsessed with a creature from the deep, "In the Heart of the Sea," sadly, is not the place to start. Try "Splash."
The AtlanticDecember 12, 2015If a silent whale is your most magnetic screen presence, he should probably appear for more than a few minutes.
San Diego ReaderDecember 11, 2015There's a hollow at the heart of things, a strange decency and politeness for a film that strives to depict, in epic form, man's dark and visceral struggle with the world and himself.
Christian Science MonitorDecember 11, 2015If the movie accomplishes nothing else, though, I hope it inspires the curious to actually sit down and finally read Moby-Dick.
Film InquiryFebruary 24, 2017In the Heart of the Sea is an all-around disappointment. The film suffers from poor direction, an unfocused narrative, and some very underdeveloped characters.
MovieFreak.comAugust 16, 2016In the Heart of the Sea loses the human intimacy that makes this epic what it is, the resulting movie is nothing more than an empty voyage to nowhere that sinks far more often than it swims.
ScreenCrushAugust 04, 2016There's a lot of good actors in this movie, but they're given so little to do besides run around and shout in the midst of splashing waves.
RTÉ (Ireland)July 25, 2016Apologies for the fishing analogy, but this is Oscar bait par excellence.
The Coast (Halifax, Nova Scotia)July 11, 2016In the Heart of the Sea is a big, top-notch adventure story with nothing to say, if that floats your perennial boat.
Baltimore MagazineJune 12, 2016It's sturdy, watchable, competently mounted, of course -- Howard is nothing if not a pro -- but except for the visuals, which can be quite stunning, it never roused me.
